The Family Business Center presents "Financial Fluency for the Non-Financial Manager," a comprehensive monthly learning cohort designed to build essential financial acumen for leaders across all levels of family businesses and organizations.

Duration: 6-month cohort program
Frequency: Monthly sessions on the first Wednesday of each month
Dates: November 2025 - April 2026
Time: 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM (4 hours per session)
Format: Interactive learning sessions with expert presentations. This program is specifically designed for: Non-financial executives and management professionals, next generation leaders (non-family members), next generation family members preparing for leadership roles, high potential performers preparing for management responsibilities
Learning Objectives: Attendees will gain practical, hands-on learning of the fundamentals of finance and accounting in their business. This program is specifically designed to demystify the numbers and demonstrate how every employee can impact company performance. During each 4-hour session, professional advisors will present the elements and details they expect attendees to use in their daily roles. Each session includes a dedicated case study component that allows participants to apply what they have learned in a 100% interactive format, ensuring practical understanding and real-world application.

Session 2: Financial Statements as a Management Tool
Session 3: Evaluating Segment Profitability / Customer Profit Analysis
Session 4: How to Talk to Your Bank / Long-Term Financing
Session 5: Business Valuations / Capital Structuring
Session 6: Program Refresher Each monthly session features one or more of our professional advisors presenting on their area of expertise, combining theoretical knowledge with practical applications relevant to family businesses and growing organizations.
Important: Registrants are strongly encouraged to attend all 6 sessions, as the information will build progressively throughout the cohort program. Each session builds upon previous learning to create a comprehensive understanding of financial management principles. This cohort provides non-financial managers with the financial literacy needed to excel in leadership roles, make informed business decisions, and contribute meaningfully to strategic planning and organizational growth within family business environments.
