Involving the Next Generation in Their Preparation
Thursday, August 15, 2024 (8:30 AM - 10:00 AM) (EDT)
Description
One of the greatest concerns of family business owners is to involve family members in the management of the firm. This is particularly true when it comes to thinking about the next generation and the opportunity to have family continuity inside of the business. To achieve this involvement, many business families take a top down approach to involve the next generation. From this approach, the older generation creates a plan and “tells” the next generation what they need to do to be part of the family firm.
In this event, we will talk about the challenges of this top-down approach, and the importance of involving the next generation to create a process that is interesting and challenging for them so that they can have a voice and learn how to take leadership roles within the family firm. Join us for this important discussion with Dr. Isabel Botero August 15th at the University Club! A light breakfast will be included.
